Historic Jazz Concert in Boston:
April 29, 2023 – Aardvark at 50, Spring Concert!
Aardvark’s historic 50th season will continue on April 29 at 7:30 pm at Boston’s Church of the Covenant, 67 Newbury St, with music by Duke Ellington on his birthday (April 29), and originals by Mark Harvey in honor of National Jazz Appreciation Month and International Jazz Day (April 30). Highlights will include Ellington’s “Come Sunday” and “Chinoiserie” and wide-ranging works by Harvey: “Soul on Soul” (for Mary Lou Williams), “The Seeker” (for John Coltrane), and the premiere of Harvey’s latest work, “Prayer for Ukraine.”
