A note from Mark Harvey:
The great Brazilian trumpeter/composer Claudio Roditi passed away on January 17th. Claudio was a founding member of Aardvark, having performed on our inaugural concert on December 23, 1973. Claudio and I then formed and co-led the Allstars Big Band. After leaving Boston, he worked with Dizzy Gillespie’s United Nation Orchestra, Paquito d’Rivera, and many other luminaries, and he led many bands of his own. He will be greatly missed and remembered well for his wonderful music and humanity.
