Aardvark’s 47th Annual Christmas Concert was a special celebration of Duke Ellington (1899-1974) in his 120th birthday year. Duke’s music included “Come Sunday,” “Almighty God Has Those Angels,” and “The Shepherd.” The orchestra also performed jazz arrangements of carols like What Child is This, and spirituals including Go Tell It on the Mountain. Proceeds benefited the Refugee Immigration Ministry, an organization of multiple faiths and cultures that provides community-based services for refugees and immigrants.
